Street Forum is a solidarity-driven mutual-aid collective. Every Sunday we gather at Republic Square for a pop-up café and open-air forum: hot breakfast, coffee, hygiene supplies, practical resources, conversation and community.

Why Street Forum exists
Housing is a human right
Street Forum formed in spring 2019 as part of a local movement to challenge the criminalization of homelessness — no-sit/no-lie, no-camping and anti-panhandling ordinances that hide poverty instead of meeting people’s needs.
We name colonialism, white supremacy and capitalism as root causes of homelessness, and we have no confidence in policing as a concept. Nobody has to prove they deserve food, coffee, hygiene supplies, conversation or housing.

Street Forum is a grassroots mutual-aid collective, fiscally hosted by Keep Austin Neighborly. Contributions and expenses — kit packing, park distribution, tents and sleeping bags — are publicly visible on Open Collective.
